GUWAHATI, March 12 � Guwahati trail by 65 runs against Dibrugarh on day one of the Elite Nuruddin Ahmed Cricket Competition at the Maligaon stadium here today. Opting to bat first, Dibrugarh scored 164 all out in 59.5 overs. For Dibrugarh, Prasanta Sonowal scored a sweet 52 supported by Jyotiraditya Chetia (28) and Sidharth Doshi (28). For Guwahati, the star bowler was Abir Chakra-borty who took 8 for 75.
In reply, Guwahati ended the day at 99 for 5 in 30 overs with Rahul Hazarika (39) and and Abhijit Singha Roy (12) at the crease. For Dibrugarh, Prasanta Sonowal took 3 for 35.
Silchar vs Nagaon: Silchar managed to score 134 all out in 38.4 overs against Nagaon in the other match of the Elite Nuruddin Ahmed Cricket Competition at the Barsapara cricket satdium. Silchar piled up 134 all out in 38.5 overswith Raihan Jameel Mazumdar scoring 29 and Samik Das 26. For Nagaon, Bitio Mahanta grabbed 5 wickets. In reply, Nagaon were 156 for 4 in 50 overs.
