Nursing institute inaugurated

GUWAHATI, Aug 1 - City-based Hayat Hospital today inaugurated the Hayat Institute of Nursing Education in the premises of Hayat Hospital.

Dr Dhrubajyoti Saikia, Vice-Chancellor of Cotton College State University, was the chief guest of the inaugural function. He stressed the need for such institutions in the north-eastern States because of the increasing demand of nurses around the globe. He also said that such nursing institutes will not only help serve the hospital sector, but it will also be of benefit to the students who want to pursue Nursing as a career.

Dr NN Dutta and Dr Monoj Kumar Choudhary of Down Town Hospital were present as the guests of honour; they also emphasised the need and demand of nursing institutes in the Northeast and elaborated about the shortage of nurses globally.

Hayat Institute of Nursing Education principal Manjul Hussain and Rajib Saikia, promoter and vice-chairman of Hayat Foundation, were also present in the inaugural ceremony.
