Numaligarh school girl to visit Delhi under Gyanjyoti prog

DERGAON, Sept 15 - A Class-X student of Numaligarh High School in Golaghat district named Shristi Hazarika has been selected to visit New Delhi for seven days under the Chief Minister�s Gyanjyoti programme.

Shristi has been selected for the tour scheduled from October 11 to 17 and received the second prize in a dance competition held during the Gyanjyoti programme at Guwahati in February last.

With two other students, namely Mayuri Devi Chutia from Charaideu district and Tinku Bora from North Lakhimpur, who too received second prize in painting and recitation respectively in the Gyanjyoti programme held at Guwahati, have also been selected for the tour.

According to an official communique, the students representing all the districts have been selected for the CM�s �special outside the state programme�.

The Headmaster of Numaligarh High School Mahen Saikia expressed his satisfaction over the selection of Shristi Hazarika for such a programme, where he felt the students will gain much-needed exposure.
