NSCN(IM) still active

SONARI, Aug 27 � In spite of today�s high-level meeting between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh governments the activities of NSCN(IM) have not decreased in Charaipung area within Charaideo sub-division at Assam-Arunachal border. The NSCN(IM) cadres have built more bunkers in the area in the last two days. A team of journalists who visited the trouble-torn area today witnessed bunkers in each and every house of Arunachalis at Naharani and Tanglum

villages in Charaipung. However, no freash incident is reparted within last 24 hours from Charaipung.

Economic blockade� The economic blockade that started last Saturday is going on in four routes which connect Tirup district of Arunachal with Assam. The agitationalists under the banner of AASU and AJYCP have informed the media here that they would not withdraw the blockade until the State government guarantees security of life and property of the citizens of Charaipung.
