DIMAPUR, Dec 26 � A senior NSCN-IM �official� has been reportedly arrested by the army in Guwahati.
According to a well placed source, Yangmi Muivah, Joint Secretary of the NSCN-IM�s Cease Fire Monitoring Cell (CFMC) was arrested by the security force personnel on December 23 from near the Guwahati Zoo.
Meanwhile, fuming over the incident, the NSCN-IM said that the security forces should know how to distingush between �peace time� and �war time�.
Irked by such cases, the NSCN-IM said the rampant abuses and violations of cease fire ground rules here and there by the security forces have been increasing despite the mutual agreement to respect the cease fire ground rules in various CFMG meetings.
According to NSCN-IM, Yangmi Muivah alias Jeffrey was arrested by security forces near the Guwahati Zoo. Since then his whereabouts is yet to be disclosed despite their efforts to locate him. He was on leave for medical treatment in Guwahati, the NSCN-IM stated and demanded for his immediate release.
