NRL-sponsored startup conclave held in city

GUWAHATI, June 10 - A�Startup Conclave was organised today by NRL�in the city to deliberate and gauge the performance,�results achieved, and the way forward for�NRL-funded and shortlisted startups under the aegis of the company�s Startup initiative iDEATION.

The conclave was inaugurated by the guest of honour, B Paul Muktieh, CMD, NEDFi, in the presence of MD of NRL SK Barua, and Director (Technical), NRL, BJ Phukan, along with senior officials from NRL, NEDFi and a host of entrepreneurs selected under NRL iDEATION.

During the course of the conclave, presentations on the progress achieved and the way forward�were made by all the four startups funded in the first edition of NRL iDEATION-2017 � ParkingRhino, Automovill, Arohan Agrisciences and Deroi Tea.

Eight other startups shortlisted for funding in the first phase of iDEATION-2018 also presented their startup ideas. Later, agreements were signed with three startups � Dr A Sarma, Vixudha Bio Product and PiCasoid for disbursement of funding on grant mode. Agreements with the remaining five startups will be signed subsequently.

Speaking on the occasion, Muktieh praised NRL for its startup initiative and hailed the role of NRL as an angel investor for the numerous entrepreneurs of the North East.

Barua in his speech said NRL itself is a startup that was conceived as a part of the historic Assam Accord-1985 and added that funding promising startups in the region is in sync with the company�s vision of providing a fillip to the development of the region.

NRL iDEATION was launched in 2017 to lend wings to the dreams and ideas of entrepreneurs from the North East by selecting promising ideas and assisting them to grow. With its�focus on prospective entrepreneurs from this region, iDEATION seeks to foster an entrepreneurial culture, selecting promising ideas and assisting them to grow. The initiative is in line with the ambitious Startup India Mission of the Govt of India, which is aimed at building a startup ecosystem in the country.
