NRL pays Rs 13.6 cr dividend to State Govt

GUWAHATI, Oct 20 � Numaligarh Refinery Limited has paid an amount of Rs. 13.62 crore as dividend for the financial year 2009-10 to the government of Assam for its equity holding of 12.35 per cent in the company. The dividend cheque was formally handed over to Tarun Gogoi, Chief Minister, by Dr BK Das, managing Director, NRL today here in presence of senior officials of the government of Assam and NRL. This was stated in a press release.

The resolution of declaring a dividend of 15 per cent to NRL shareholders for the year 2009-10 was adopted in the 17th annual general meeting of the company held on September 10, 2009 in Guwahati. Other than the dividend amount, the contribution by NRL to the Assam Government Exchequer during the year was to the tune of Rs. 310.36 crore.

It may be mentioned that during the financial year 2009-10, NRL achieved the highest ever crude throughput of 2.62 million metric tonnes (MMT) and was able to record a profit after tax figure of Rs. 232.08 crore.
