NRL gifts PCs to Asom Jatiya Bidyalaya

GUWAHATI, Oct 10 � As part of its corporate social responsibility which strongly espouses the cause of education, Numaligarh Refinery Limited handed over 15 sets of personal computers (PCs) to Asom Jatiya Bidyalay, Guwahati. At a function held in the premises of the School on Friday, a press release said.

MD of NRL Dr BK Das inaugurated the new computer laboratory hosting the PCs supplied with UPS to the school and expressed hope that it would benefit the students in enabling their computer skills, which has become a very important part of everyday life.

Earlier, Basanta Deka, president of the management committee of Asom Jatiya Bidyalay welcomed of the MD NRL and other senior officers accompanying him at the special assembly of the school and praised the efforts of the company in contributing towards the cause of education. The MD in his address congratulated the teachers and students of the school for achieving stellar academic performance year after year due to which it had earned the distinction of being the hallmark of quality education in the State.

In its unrelenting march to spread the light of education which is one of the major focus areas in NRL�s CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) policy , NRL has dedicatedly worked towards supporting schools and educational institutions by building infrastructure, distributing books, carrying out coaching classes, instituting scholarships for meritorious students, encouraging the education of the girl child through special schemes , sponsoring educational excursions, recognizing schools which have performed well in Matric and Higher Secondary and many other such schemes which support the cause of education, the meet was told.
