NRL donates dustbins to Smart City Limited

GUWAHATI, Oct 27 - As part of the ongoing Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign 2019, Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) handed over 30 dustbins to Guwahati Smart City Limited (GSCL) to be strategically placed in various public places across the city.

The dustbins were officially handed over by HK Sarmah, company secretary, NRL in presence of Pranab Baruah, OSD, GSCL, Subrata Das, GM (Marketing), NRL, Madhuchanda Adhikari, DGM (Corporate Communication), NRL along with a host of officials from NRL and GSCL at Shradhanjali Kanan here on Friday.

NRL also carried out various other activities in and around its refinery as part of the Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign 2019. The campaign started with an awareness programme on �Eliminating Single-Use Plastic� on September 17.

A Waste Handling & Plastic Processing Unit was installed at Ponka Village in Numaligarh. Mass awareness cum cleanliness drives were also conducted at 50 locations in Golaghat district involving local NGOs, market management committees and other social organisations.

For ensuring better healthcare, a drinking water ATM was installed at a village near the refinery apart from 100 decorative dustbins distributed among 45 schools and colleges of three nearby gaon panchayats.
