GUWAHATI, Feb 7 The NRHM Employees Association, Assam, has announced a 'total cease-work' from February 10 to February 16.

The decision to go for the agitation was taken due to the government's lack of clear policy with regard to the future of the 18,000 contractual workers of NRHM. The Association said that essential services will be suspended during the period of the 'cease-work'.

It regretted having to resort to the measure and said only the lackadaisical attitude of the government has forced it to do so.

During the week-long period of 'cease-work', sit-in demonstrations will be held at Guwahati and other places across the city.
