SONARI, Jan 13 � The process of updating the National Register of Citizens (NRC) is under way in the Charaideo subdivision.
All CRCs, ARCRs and LRCR engaged in the Charaideo subdivision were imparted training recently by NN Nath, SDO (Civil), Charaideo subdivision, at a public auditorium here. Nath informed that 30 NRC help centres have been opened in the subdivision to cater to the needs of the people. Out of these, 13 are in the Sonari revenue circle, nine in the Sapekhati revenue circle and eight in the Sapekhati revenue circle.
All the family heads will be given NRC forms by the LRCR from February 1 next. The filled-up forms will have to be submitted at the respective help centres.
Gurnail Singh, Election Officer, Charaideo, furnished the information on the updating process. Dhiraj Das, Rasmi Baruah Gogoi and Rajib Thapa, revenue circle officers of Sonari, Mahmora and Sapekhati revenue circles respectively, were present in the training programme.
Nath has urged the people of the subdivision to cooperate in this process.
