NPP reiterates support to Arunachal Govt

ITANAGAR, Oct 16 - The National People�s Party (NPP), a major partner of the BJP-led North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) which has four MLAs in the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly, will continue to support the Pema Khandu-led BJP Government �for the greater interest of the people of the State�.

This was reiterated by NPP State unit president Gicho Kabak, who led a delegation comprising party MLAs Tapuk Taku (new NPP Legislature Party leader), Mutchu Mithi, Tarin Dakpe and Gokar Basar, party�s working president Pani Taram, vice president Nima Sangey Saling and general secretary Porchu Tamin, during a meeting with Chief Minister Pema Khandu here today.

The delegation also informed the Chief Minister about the election of Tapuk Taku as the NPP Legislature Party leader following the resignation of incumbent Mutchu Mithi, who has been appointed as the NPP national general secretary, during the Legislature Party meeting here on Tuesday. Kabak submitted a copy of the resolution adopted during the meeting.

The NPP leaders discussed development activities initiated under the State Government, the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill and the Chakma-Hajong issue. He also appreciated Chief Minister Khandu for his �dynamism� in initiating various development activities in the State.

The NPP stated that the Chief Minister congratulated Taku on being elected as the NPP Legislature Party leader and vowed to expedite development activities in the State.

The delegation also called on Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker PD Sona and submitted the resolution on the NPP Legislature Party leader�s election. It requested a separate sitting arrangement for Taku in the Assembly Hall.
