By Newmai News

DIMAPUR, April 19 The Naga Peoples Front (NPF) has decided to contest the maximum number of seats in the upcoming Autonomous District Council elections in Manipur. The ADC elections are scheduled for June 1 in six councils of five hill districts of Manipur.

NPF secretary general KG Kenye said that even as the internal problem persists in Nagaland, which is the headquarter of NPF party, there is no problem for NPF in Manipur State.

Kenye added that the problem will have no impact in Manipur as ADC elections have nothing to do with leadership issue in Nagaland. State and divisional units of NPF are fully gearing up to contest the ADC elections in a big way, he added.

He said that NPF is keeping doors open for coalition with other political parties in the State for ADC elections. However, he claimed that NPF is contemplating to contest maximum number of seats.

Earlier, NPF has resolved to participate in the forthcoming Manipur ADC elections with the agenda to fight for tribal rights.
