NAGAON, Oct 27 - Shilpa Dey, a first semester student of Nowgong Girls� College, was murdered this afternoon allegedly by Umarangam Saikia, a student of GNDG Commerce College.
The incident occurred at the rented house at Lawkhuwa Road where Shilpa stayed with her two sisters.
Shilpa�s sister Shanti also received injuries when she tried to protect her. Shanti, also a student of Nowgong Girls� College, has been hospitalised.
The high voices raised by the two sisters caught the attention of the local people who apprehended Umarangam and later handed him over to the police.
Investigation is going on.
