MANGALDAI, June 29 - Close on the heels of arrest of most wanted criminal and murder accused Asha Babu Islam a few days back, Darrang Police achieved yet another breakthrough on Wednesday when three hardcore members of a gang of criminals were similarly nabbed.
These criminals were involved in many cases of theft, dacoity, burglary etc., in different places of the State, including Guwahati.
Significantly, among those arrested is a former Home Guard jawan, namely Abdul Wahab Talukdar hailing from Dhula area. The other two were identified as Abbas Ali of Dhula and Basiruddin Ahmed of Ojagaon.
The operation was carried out by a joint team of police from both Kharupetia and Dhula police stations under the supervision of ASP (Headquarter), Darrang, Ujjal Protim Baruah.
