NAGAON, March 1 - Nagaon Police apprehended a notorious dacoit and arms smuggler from Juria area on Wednesday night. Police recovered two 7.65 pistols, one point 22 pistol, 11 rounds of live bullets and a mobile handset from his possession.
According to sources, the nabbed dacoit was identified as Billal Uddin of Kolony Jalaah under Juria Police Station. A source said that Billal had links with an inter-state gang of dacoits as well as smugglers. He was supposed to sell illegal arms to customers on Wednesday night when police arrested him along with the arms.
In the meantime, police registered a case in this regard and interrogation was on. Interestingly, Billal was jailed for a case of robbery just a couple of months back and released from jail only last month.
