BISWANATH CHARIALI, June 28 - Binandi Kalita, a retired Professor of Department of Mathematics of Biswanath College and former president of Sonitpur district BJP, passed away on Tuesday night at his residence at Kochgaon, here after a prolonged illness.
He was 82. Born in 1937, late Kalita had started his carrier in Chariali High School as an Assistant Teacher and later joined the college.
Kalita played a vital role in establishing a number of educational institutions. He leaves behind his wife, a son, a daughter and a host of relatives. He was also associated with several social organizations of the locality. His death was widely mourned.
