Guwahati, April 4: A clash broke out at the Assam-Meghalaya border following which two women sustained serious injuries, said reports.
As per reports, a scuffle broke out between the villagers of both the States in Salbari in Baksa district of Assam on Saturday evening.
The incident took place just days after the Assam and Meghalaya governments had signed an agreement to settle border disputes in six areas of difference.
As per the agreement six out of 12 places along the 884.9 km border between the two states will be resolved.
There are 36 villages in the six places, covering an area of 36.79 sq km, with regard to which the agreement has been reached. Out of the 12 points of dispute between Assam and Meghalaya, the six areas with relatively less critical differences were taken up in the first phase.
Meanwhile, reports of tension along the border have been surfacing even since the signing of the agreement.
