Single-day recoveries surpass fresh COVID-19 cases in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar, Oct 8: Single-day recoveries outnumbered fresh COVID-19 cases in Arunachal Pradesh, as 38 more people recuperated from the disease on Thursday, while 32 new infections pushed the tally to 54,844, a senior health official said here on Friday.

A total of 54,146 people have recovered from COVID-19 so far, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

The COVID-19 recovery rate now is 98.73 per cent while the active percentage is 0.76, he said.

The coronavirus death toll in the frontier state remained at 279 as no fresh fatality was reported in the past 24 hours, the SSO said.

Arunachal Pradesh currently has 419 active COVID-19 cases.

Lower Dibang Valley district has the highest number of active cases at 71, followed by Lohit (67), West Kameng (59), Tawang (48) and East Siang (42).

As many as 11,58,462 samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far, including 1,871 on Thursday, Jampa said, adding the positivity ratio in the state now is 1.71.

According to State Immunisation Officer Dr Dimong Padung, a total of 12,23,119 people have been inoculated thus far in the state.
