Sikkim reports 59 new COVID-19 cases

Gangtok, Jun 7: Sikkims COVID-19 caseload on Monday increased to 17,170 after reporting 59 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, a health department bulletin said.

Of the new cases, South Sikkim registered 27 infections, followed by East Sikkim (20), North Sikkim (7) and West Sikkim (5). Sikkim at present has 4051 active cases, while 238 others have migrated and 12,608 patients have recovered from the disease. Coronavirus has so far claimed the lives of 273 people in the Himalayan state.

Sikkim has tested 706 samples for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours to take the total number of tests to 1,36,524.
