Sikkim reports 25 new COVID-19 cases

Gangtok, June 21: Sikkims COVID19 tally rose to 19,321 on Monday as 25 more people tested positive for the infection, a health bulletin said.

The Himalayan state, however, reported zero fatalities due to coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The number of COVID-19 deaths in the state stands at 293 so far, the bulletin said. East Sikkim registered the highest number of new cases at 17, followed by four in South Sikkim and two each in West Sikkim and North Sikkim. Sikkim now has 2,448 active cases, while 16,329 people have recovered from the disease and 251 patients have migrated to other states so far.

Sikkim's Covid-19 positivity rate stands at 14.5 per cent, while the recovery rate among the coronavirus patients has improved to 84.5 per cent.
