Gangtok, Sep 3: Sikkim's COVID-19 tally rose to 30,070 on Friday as 46 more people tested positive for the infection, while two fresh fatalities pushed the Himalayan state's coronavirus death toll to 373, a health bulletin said.
East Sikkim reported the highest number of new cases at 28, followed by 14 in West Sikkim, three in South Sikkim and one in North Sikkim, it said. Sikkim now has 989 active cases, while 28,425 people have recovered from the disease, and 283 patients have migrated to other states so far. The recovery rate among the coronavirus patients in the state stood at 95.4 per cent.
The state has thus far tested over 2.33 lakh samples for COVID-19, including 796 in the last 24 hours, it said, adding that the positivity rate stood at 6.4 per cent.
