Guwahati, Nov 9: Creative Director of Cane Concept and Founder of Urra Design, Aku Zeliang has won the Elle Deco International Design Award (EDIDA) 'Young Talent of the Year 2022' organised by Elle Decor.
Besides winning the 'Young Talent of the Year 2022' award, Aku Zeliang was also runner up in the 'seating' category.
The Nagaland based design studio- Urra Designs specialises in creating artefacts that decipher the rich heritage of the region. Aku Zeliang collaborates with indigenous crafts people to create artefacts and objects.
Urra Designs specialises in residential and hospitality interiors, rare cane and bamboo furniture.
Zeliang who is the eldest son of renowned entrepreneur from the region, Jesmina Zeliang, draws his inspiration from the surroundings and the different culture from the Northeast region of India.
