MP Tapir Gao appeals Centre to 'free' Arunachal man abducted by China in 2015

Itanagar, Feb 11: Bharatiya Janata Party's Lok Sabha MP from Arunachal East constituency, Tapir Gao on Thursday made a fervent appeal to the Central Government to initiate necessary steps for early release of an Arunachal native, who was allegedly abducted by the Chinese PLA about seven years back from the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Monigong area of Shi-Yomi district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Raising the Tapor Pullom episode in the Lower House of Parliament, Gao said, "This is a very sad story of a family from Arunachal Pradesh. In September 2015, Tapor Pullom and his friend went hunting for herbal collection and hunting along the China border. But Pullom while on hunting trip was taken away by the PLA. Since then his family has been running from pillar to post, seeking support from the Indian Army as well as the Government of India (for his release).

"As (PM Narendra) Modi ji has freed six abductees (from Arunachal Pradesh) from the PLA in the last two years, I request the Government of India that Tapor Pullom of Kemang Gaon, Monigong, Shi-Yomi district, Arunachal Pradesh be brought back by putting all the concerned agencies into action," the MP said.

"I have full faith in our government led by HPM Shri @narendramodi ji to bring him back just like the 6 abductees who have returned home in the last 2 years," a tweet from Tapir Gao said.
