Mizoram reports 210 new COVID-19 cases, tally at 14,743

Aizawl, Jun 11: Mizoram on Friday reported 210 new COVID-19 cases, which took the tally in the northeastern state to 14,743, an official said.

Of the fresh cases, 144 were reported from Aizawl, 35 from Lunglei, 16 from Lawngtlai and 10 from Kolasib district. The remaining cases were registered in several other districts.

Around 50 children are among the fresh patients, he said.

Eight new patients have travel history, and 136 developed symptoms of COVID-19. According to the official, the single-day infection rate was at 5.86 per cent as the new cases were detected from 3,581 sample tests.

Mizoram now has 3,578 active COVID-19 cases, while 11,104 people have recovered from the infection and 61 died.

The recovery rate among coronavirus patients in the State currently stands at 75.31 per cent. The state has tested 4,24,717 samples for COVID-19 so far, he said.

State immunisation officer Dr Lalzawmi said that 2,81,950 people have been inoculated with 52,840 of them having received both doses of the vaccine till Thursday.
