Guwahati, May 4: As the education department could not take the risk of getting students infected due to the pandemic, they mostly relied on online classes.

However, the online option has resulted in an increased number of eyesight problems among students in Mizoram.

As per reports, ophthalmologists from Mizoram's Civil Hospital in Aizawl have said that the prolonged use of mobile phones by students for the past two years has led to several eye problems.

This came to light after schools reopened and the children were unable to see what was being written on the board.

Meanwhile, experts have cautioned on the use of mobile phones or other devices from close quarters and have advised parents to curb the screen time of young people.
