Shillong, June 17: Meghalaya on Thursday recorded 478 new coronavirus cases pushing the tally to 43,732, a senior health department official said.
Four more COVID-19 fatalities also took the death toll to 762. Health Services director Aman War said 329 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cured people to 38,361. The number of active cases in the state now stands at 4,609, he said. Of the fresh fatalities, two were reported from East Jaintia Hills district and one each from East Garo Hills district and East Jaintia Hills district respectively. The state has conducted over 6.38 lakh tests to date, the official said.
Till Wednesday, 5.44 lakh people have been inoculated with over 75,000 of them receiving both doses of the vaccine, War said.
