Guwahati, April 23: A massive fire broke out at a sack factory in Byrnihat in Ri Bhoi, Meghalaya. The fire which broke out on Friday night could not be controlled even after 12 hours.
As per reports, around 10 fire tenders had been brought in to douse the flames. However, the firefighters have not been able to bring the raging fire under control.
Reports further said that properties worth Rs 50 crore were damaged in the massive inferno. No casualty has been reported so far.
The cause of the fire is not known immediately, though a short-circuit may be the reason, officials informed. Further details awaited.
