Imphal, Aug 6: Manipur recorded 757 new Covid 19 positive cases, when 5,275 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, taking the state's total infection tally to 1,02,147,official source said. The total number of active cases stands at 8,686.
The new positive cases were detected from 12 districts in the state and maximum numbers of cases were reported from Imphal West (277), Imphal East (230), and Churachandpur (62) districts.
Meanwhile, the State also reported total fatalities of 8 Covid 19 patients in the last 24 hours, taking the state's Covid-19 death toll to 1,614, it said.
The victims are from Imphal West (2), Bishnupur (2), Imphal East (2), Churachandpur (1), and Thoubal (1) districts.
With 1079 new recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total number of recovered COVID 19 cases in Manipur reached 91,847,it said. Thus the state's recovery rate increases to 89.91%.
So far 11,12,857 persons were tested for COVID-19 while 7,19,495 persons were screened at the entry points of the state at the various testing centres in the State, the source said.
Manipur has so far given 13,60,027 doses of Covid vaccines including 11,30,261 first and 2,29,766 second doses to the residents.
A total of 5,68,461 first doses (second dose 7225) of Covid vaccine were given to people between 18-44 years and 2,79,452 first doses (second dose 84844) to people between 45-59 years besides 1,40,913 first doses (second dose 44,511) to people above 60 years till date, according to the state health department reports.
