Imphal, July 22: Manipur reported 1327 new Covid 19 positive cases,when 6,852 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, taking the State's total infection tally to 88,050, official sources said. Thus the total number of active cases reached 10,347.The new positive cases were detected from 16 districts in the state and maximum numbers of cases were reported from Imphal East (400), Imphal West (352) and Thoubal (124) districts.
On the other hand with 1032 new recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total number of recovered COVID 19 cases in Manipur reached 76,279, it added. Thus the state's recovery rate stands at 86.63%.
Meanwhile the state recorded total fatalities of 15 Covid 19 patients in the last 24 hours, taking the state's Covid 19 death toll to 1424, official sources said. The victims are from Bishnupur (6), Imphal West (3), Thoubal (2),Imphal East (2),Churachandpur (1) and Chandel (1) districts. As of Wednesday, 10,20,869 persons were tested for COVID 19 while 7,09,823 persons were screened at the entry points of the state at the various testing centres in the state, it said.
In another development, Manipur police on today detained 99 persons in the state for violating health protocols and released them after giving warning. An amount of Rs 40,400 was also collected as fine.Since the formal launching of the vaccination drive on January 16 this year, Manipur has so far given 10,90,922 doses of Covid vaccines including 9,65,342 first and 1,25,580 second doses to the residents.
According to official reports available here, a total of 4,53,965 first doses(second dose 1999)of Covid vaccine were given to people between 18-44 years and 2,45,379 first doses(second dose 26,968)to people between 45-59 years besides 1,24,847 first doses(second dose 13,653)to people above 60 years till date.
