Imphal, July 26: A 'Ritual Festival of Vaccination' a two day mass vaccination camp was organised at the Iboyaima Sumang Leela Shanglen, a playhouse in Imphal East district from July 24 to July 25.


The 'Ritual Festival of Vaccination' was organised by Association of Healthcare Providers India (AHPI), Manipur Chapter under the aegis of National Health Mission, Manipur, in collaboration with Manipur State Sumang Leela Council, Film forum Manipur, Apunba Manipur Ishei Kanglup and All Manipur Artist Relief Committee. Stating that AHPI, Manipur Chapter feels that the prompt return to normalcy during this COVID-19 pandemic is possible only when 100% of the eligible population of Manipur is vaccinated at the earliest possible time, says AHPI Manipur chapter in a press release, "Therefore, AHPI Manipur Chapter took the initiative to vaccinate the Artist federation of Manipur and their relatives during this 2 days COVID 19 vaccination camp."


In the two days vaccination camp, a total of 682 people were vaccinated with the Covishield vaccine. Of which 416 were first dose recipients and 266 were second dose recipients. 44.28% were in the 18-44 years group, 33.87% were in the 45-60 years group while 21.85% were in the above 60 years group. No AEFI (adverse event following immunisation) were reported in the whole 2 days vaccination camp. State Mission Director, Dr N Shyamjai Singh and his team came to the site during the camp to oversee the proceedings. All of the AHPI Manipur Chapter's members and their staff contributed to the huge success of the mass vaccination camp.


AHPI, Manipur Chapter would continue to shoulder its Corporate Social responsibilities (CSR) over and above catering to about 65% of the State's Health Care needs. A healthy Manipur will ultimately lead to a more developed and advanced Manipur,it stated.


Since January 16, the state has given 12,05,743 doses of Covid vaccines including 10,39,2146 first and 1,66,529 second doses to the residents. According to official reports, a total of 5,05,214 first doses(second dose 4223)of Covid vaccine were given to people between 18-44 years and 2,60,584 first doses(second dose 49,772)to people between 45-59 years besides 1,32,142 first doses(second dose 25,808)to people above 60 years till date.
