Covid 19: Manipur's recovery rate increases to 90.10%

Imphal, June 29: The number of recovered COVID 19 patients outnumbered the new COVID 19 positive cases in Manipur. Now Manipur's recovery rate increases to 90.10%.

According to the official reports available here, altogether 608 COVID 19 patients recovered from four health care centres in the state in the last 24 hours.Now the total number of recovered COVID 19 cases in Manipur reached 61,646, it said. Out of total recovered cases, 57,878 are from the general population while the remaining 3,768 are Central security personnel, it added.

Meanwhile a total of 432 new COVID 19 positive cases were reported when 4,493 samples were tested in the last 24 hours from 12 districts of the state. The maximum numbers of new cases were reported from Imphal West (100), Thoubal(89)and Imphal East (83) districts.As a result the state's total infection tally rises to 68,418 besides decreasing the total number of active cases to 5,642, official sources added.

On the other hand the State on Monday reported total fatalities of 6 Covid 19 patients, taking the state's Covid 19 death toll to 1130,according to a press release. The victims are from Churachandpur (2),Imphal East(1), Kakching(1)and Kangpokpi(1). They expired at four health centres in the state, it added.

In another development,Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh today said that the government has started the mass vaccination program for all eligible persons in every constituency with the support of elected members such as MLAs, Pradhans, Zilla Parishads etc. in the State.

He also sought the cooperation and support of the people during the mass vaccination drive adding that the utmost priority of the government is to save precious lives during this pandemic.
