Arunachal probe agency vows to bring all 'culprits' involved in paper leak case to justice

Itanagar, Mar 1: The Special Investigation Cell (SIC) of Arunachal Pradesh Police which has taken over the State Board Examination question paper leak case today vowed that it is committed to bring all the 'culprits' involved to justice.

It requires a mention here that the Class VIII Social Science and Science subjects' exams (on Feb 23 and 24) were cancelled following reports of question paper leak received here at the State Directorate office from the DDSE, West Kameng district.

Subsequently, upon registration of a criminal case at Dirang Police Station on Feb 24 under IPC Sections 420/120(B), the principal of Dirang Valley Public School, Tezi Ramadasow, was arrested in connection with leakage of question paper (APSBE-2021-22) of Class-VIII for Science and Social Science subjects.

"Consequent upon approval of the competent authority, the Dirang PS case No. 02/2022 has been transferred to SIC PS Itanagar and the case was re-numbered as SIC PS Ita Case No. 02/2022 U/S 420/381/406/120(B) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 1860 read with Sec 13(1)(a)& 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act, 1988 and endorsed to Inspector B Krong for further investigation," SIC (Vigilance) SP Dr Hemant Tiwari said.

He said that a team led by L Dawa, Officer-in-Charge, SIC PS Itanagar reached Bomdila on Sunday, while adding that the prime accused of the case, principal of Dirang Valley Public School, Dirang has been sent to 14 days judicial custody by the District & Sessions Court, Bomdila.

Today, SIC has sought police custody of the accused and the court has granted three days' police custody of the prime accused for production of the accused person before the Special Judge (PCA) at Yupia.

"Further investigation of this case is going on. SIC is committed to bring all the culprits of this case to the justice," the SP said.
