Arunachal Pradesh reports two new COVID-19 cases

Itanagar, Dec 28: Arunachal Pradesh reported two new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, one more than the previous day, pushing the tally to 55,334, a senior health department official said here.

The two new cases were reported from the Capital Complex Region.

The frontier state now has 18 active COVID-19 cases, while 55,036 people have recuperated from the disease so far, the official said.

The COVID-19 death toll remained at 280 as no fresh fatality was reported in the last 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

The coronavirus recovery rate now is 99.46 per cent, while the activity ratio is 0.03 per cent.

The Capital Complex comprising – Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas, has the highest number of active cases at 11, followed by Namsai district (3), West Kameng (2), Tawang and Lohit with one case each.

As many as 12,04,344 samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far in the state, including 188 on Monday, Jampa said, adding that the positivity ratio stood at 0.10 per cent.

State Immunisation Officer Dr Dimong Padung said that a total of 14,57,500 people have been inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine so far, including, 1,877 on Monday.
