Arunachal COVID-19 tally nears 34k-mark

Itanagar, Jun 24: Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday recorded 252 fresh Covid-19 cases that increased its tally of confirmed cases to 33,916.

Of the new cases, Itanagar Capital Complex came up with the highest detections at 53, followed by Lohit 23 and West Kameng 21, while 19 cases each came from Changlang and Namsai. Upper Subansiri detected 15 cases, East Siang and East Kameng 14 each, and Papum Pare 10.

156 of the total cases were found to be asymptomatic and 96 symptomatic, a bulletin from the State Directorate of Health Services said here.

On the other hand, 233 COVID patients have recuperated across the State during the past 24 hours that took the total number of recoveries to 31,189. The number of COVID related deaths remained unaltered at 160 as no casualty has been reported on Wednesday.

Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday tested 5273 samples for Covid-19 that took the cumulative figure to 7,32,078. The State has presently 2,567 active cases, comprising 7.57 per cent of the total confirmed cases, while the recovery rate stood at 91.96 per cent and the death rate at 0.47 per cent.

Meanwhile, 11,523 beneficiaries were administered COVID-19 vaccine doses on the day. Of them, 10,528 people in the 18-44 years age group took the first dose and 893 of 45-plus received the anti-COVID vaccine shots.

So far, Arunachal has administered 5,21,760 vaccine jabs to the beneficiaries, including healthcare workers and frontline workers since the launch of the inoculation drive in January last. 4,37,927 beneficiaries have taken the first dose while 83,833 people have been fully vaccinated.
