Shillong, Aug 11: Ten persons died and 463 new cases were reported in the State during the past 24 hours taking the total positive cases reported so far to 70,232.
Out of the ten deaths, nine were not vaccinated, health officials said. Seven of these deaths occurred in East Khasi Hills, two in West Khasi Hills and one in West Jaintia Hills district. The death toll in the state is now 1,195.
East Khasi Hills reported 255 new cases followed by 67 in West Khasi Hills and 40 in West Garo Hills district. RI-Bhoi reported 28 new cases, West Jaintia Hills 25, South West Khasi Hills 16 and East Jaintia Hills 13. The rest of the districts reported new cases in single digit.
The State also reported 384 recoveries in which West KHasi Hills registered the highest with 87, followed by West Garo Hills with 82, East Khasi Hills 76, RI-Bhoi 56 and West Jaintia Hills 39.
The active cases in the state are 4496. The total recovered cases in the state are now 64,541.
