GUWAHATI, Nov 21 - A two-day North East SC/ST summit will be held at the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre here from November 22 to discuss the potential of entrepreneurs of the north-eastern region.
The summit is being organised under the National SC/ST Hub (NSSH) Scheme, which was launched with the objective of fulfilling the Government Procurement Policy Order 2012 of mandatory 4 per cent procurement from SC/ST entrepreneurs, stated a press release.
The summit will provide a platform for MSMEs of NE states to interact for learning and sharing best practices from experts, create awareness and leverage on various government schemes designed for promoting start-ups and business expansion.
The summit aims to focus on a few core sectors including fresh and processed food, handloom and handicraft, tea, coffee and herbal drinks, piggery value chain, aromatic and medicinal plants, tourism and bamboo.
