Non-declaration in Nepali literature resented

MUSHALPUR, Jan 7 � Nepali Sahitya Parishad (NSP), Assam has resented the non-declaration of Sahitya Akademi Award-2011 in Nepali literature.

A meeting of the literary organisation was held in this connection under the chairmanship of Naba Sapkota, president of Nepali Sahitya Parishad recently which resented the matter and demanded immediate declaration of the award to Nepali writings.

The meeting unanimously adopted four resolutions to be sent to the secretary of Sahitya Akademi, which included the demands to dissolve the present jury and form a new one out of the jury panel.

Further, the meeting called for holding of new jury meeting within a week from the receipt of Nepali Sahitya Parishad letter and declaration of Sahitya Akademi Award in Nepali literature; expulsion of the jury members from Sahitya Akademi for future who hold a prejudiced view and failed to form a unanimous decision in the last jury meet; if found responsible, the Nepali Advisory Board be dissolved. This was stated by Badri Guragain, Vice President of Nepali Sahitya Parishad, Assam.
