GUWAHATI, Nov 19 - A programme on Sattriya dance was held at the Madhavdev International Auditorium of Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra here on Saturday.
The dance programme was part of the Nritya Parva Festival 2017 organised by the Sattriya Kendra, Guwahati and the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, at the Kalakshetra.
In the programme, a few non-Assamese dancers from Pune, Maharashtra, under the leadership of Dr Devika Saikia Borthakur, a Sattriya dance exponent from Assam, enthralled the audience.
The dancers who performed with Dr Borthakur were Payal Jadhav, Mrunmayi Barahate, Mansi Jagtap and Nayanmoni Bhagawati.
Besides a strong audience, several Sattriya dance gurus, artistes and scholars also witnessed the dance programme, stated a press release.
