Nominations found valid

IMPHAL, March 27 - Nomination papers of all 11 candidates for the Inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency have been found to be valid after scrutiny in Imphal West district, official sources said. Election to the seat will be held in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections on April 18.

The candidates who are in fray include Dr RK Ranjan of the BJP, O Nabakishore of the Congress, Dr M Nara of the CPI, G Tonsana of the Manipur Democratic People�s Front, S Nandeshore of the Rashtriya Janhit Sangarsh Party, RK Anand of the North East India Development Party, O Jugindro of the Manipur People�s Party, and RK Somorendro alias Kaiku, M Tomtomsana, W Pobitro Singh and Md Iliyash Khan � all Independents. The last date of withdrawal of nomination papers for the second-phase elections is March 29.

On Tuesday, the nomination papers filed by all eight candidates for the Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency were also found to be valid for the first-phase elections on April 11.
