NORTH LAKHIMPUR, March 18 - The last date of nomination submission for all the four LACs in Lakhimpur district ended today. On the last day of the nominations, party bigwigs and independent candidates filed their papers for all the four LACs before the election authorities in the district headquarters North Lakhimpur and in subdivisional headquarters Dhakuakhana.
In North Lakhimpur, nominations were filed by Congress candidate Dr Jay Prakash Das for the Lakhimpur LAC. Trinamool Congress� Meenaxi Gohain Baruah and Trinamool BJP�s Uday Shankar Hazarika also filled their nominations for the same LAC. Congress� ticket-discard Ghana Buragohain also filed his nomination for Lakhimpur LAC as an independent candidate today.
BJP�s Debananda Hazarika filed his nominations for Bihpuria LAC while many independent candidates filed their papers for Nowboicha LAC.
In Dhakuakhana, Congress candidate Bharat Narah filed his nomination for Dhakuakhana LAC today. Earlier on Thursday, nominations were filed by incumbent MLA Bhupen Borah for Bihpuria LAC and another incumbent Sanjay Raj Subba for Nowboicha LAC. AGP�s Jayanta Khaund and BJP�s Rao Gajendra Singh also filed their nominations for Nowboicha LAC on the same day.
