IMPHAL, Oct 21 - The election authorities in Manipur today accepted the nomination papers of all the 15 candidates during scrutiny for the ensuing by-elections, scheduled to be held on November 7.
Scrutiny of the nomination papers of all the candidates was held at the offices of their respective returning officers.
The last date of withdrawal of candidature is October 23.
By-elections to Wangoi, Wangjing-Tentha, Lilong, Saitu (ST) and Singhat (ST) Assembly seats in Manipur have been necessitated after their respective sitting MLAs resigned from the membership of the Manipur Legislative Assembly in August. Currently, 13 Assembly constituencies lie vacant in the 60-member Manipur House.
