ITANAGAR, July 15 - Amid the rapid rise in the number of COVID-19 positive cases in Arunachal Pradesh, the State Government today accorded its approval for establishment of a dedicated COVID-19 hospital at the newly-constructed MLA Apartments at Chimpu near here.

Taking to Twitter, Chief Minister Pema Khandu wrote: Approval is accorded for setting up of dedicated #Covid19 Hospital at MLA apartment today. He said the new facility would have better infrastructural facility, besides ensuring safety of frontline Health workers.

While catering to need for better infrastructural facility, this will also ensure safety of our frontline health workers, Khandu tweeted.

The newly-built MLA Apartments, consisting of four blocks and separate bungalows for the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker, is an ambitious project of the State Government.

The proposed COVID-19 hospital will have more than 40 beds with ICUs, oxygen, diagnosis and other facilities, Health Minister Alo Libang said.

One more prefabricated COVID-19 hospital is coming up at Midpu under the Doimukh circle of Papum Pare district.
