DERGAON, April 5 � Following the tradition of the last 11 years, no voter casted vote in a polling station in Sarupather LAC.
According to information, polling station at Ehekhu Memorial School (PS No. 231) in Sarupather registerd zero vote in the election held on April 4.
Though the polling party reached the centre on time, they returned without votes. According to a source, the voters have not voted since 1990 election as three people of the village were killed by the NSCN militants. Since then they felt insecured. The village with 14 families of Lokat Basti lies in the Assam-Nagaland border and the Nagaland is demanding its inclusion. But the Assam Govt only remembers the village at the time of elections.
