No trace of abducted tea employee, normal work paralysed in Shankar TE

DOOMDOOMA, Oct 14 - No trace of Gauranga Chandra Deb (55), the abducted head fitter of Shankar Tea Estate situated under Talap outpost of Doomdooma PS has been found on the fourth day today. The security forces have intensified the search operation to rescue the abducted tea employee who was abducted by four unidentified gunmen in black commando attire from the factory of the garden on Friday evening.

On the other hand, the workers and the labourers of the garden have refrained from attending their work since Friday evening which has paralysed the normal functioning of the garden.

The employees and the labourers staged protests in front of the garden office today and urged the authority to take necessary action to rescue their colleague. They also demanded the presence of the owner of the garden Sudhir Kumar Lohia in the garden. Security has been beefed up in the office and the factory campus of the garden. Even the local scribes are not allowed to enter the campus.

Today, the general secretary of the Asom Chah Karmachari Sangha (ACKS), Girish Chandra Borpatra Gohain visited the family of the abducted tea employee. He also had an interaction with the employees of the garden. Later , he urged the government to take some immediate measures to rescue Gauranga Chandra Deb.
