GUWAHATI, Oct 26 Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today asserted that under no circumstances would Assams land be allowed to be ceded to Nagaland to accommodate the NSCN (IM)s demand for a greater Nagalim by integrating Naga-inhabited areas of neighbouring States.
Replying to a query during a press conference, the Chief Minister said that the Naga militant outfit had already dropped the demand for integration of Naga-inhabited areas and even if it calls for autonomy to Naga-inhabited areas in Assam, that cannot take place overriding the
authority of the State Government.
On the talks with the NDFB, Gogoi said that the peace process was on even though the final stage had not yet been reached.
The NSCN (IM) claim on the Naga inhabited areas in different States of the Northeast has been vehemently opposed by the respective State governments of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.
