No respite from parking woes in Nagaon

By Correspondent

NAGAON, May 3 The issue of parking of vehicles has posed a major problem in different parts of the town here, especially near the Haibargaon Railway Station. Trucks are haphazardly parked on the roads, creating a lot of inconvenience to motorists and other commuters in the area.

Obviously, the haggard citizens here have been desperately seeking respite from the perennial parking woes.

On April 27, an irate mob torched four trucks in the area in an extreme show of protest. The police later apprehended eight persons from the locality in connection with the incident.

Meanwhile, in a statement issued to the Press, Sujit Das, central secretary of the linguistic minority cell of the AGP, alleged that the police had arrested innocent people, and that they have failed to resolve the parking woes in the area. Das demanded the unconditional release of the persons arrested in connection with the April 27 incident.
