By Correspondent

DIMAPUR, Sept 7 - NSCN-IM has asserted that judged by the level of dedication in pursuit of honourable settlement to the Naga political issue, there is no reason for the Naga people to be doubtful.

A statement issued by the outfit today said the Framework Agreement in place now will conclusively guarantee enduring solution. According to it, the Framework Agreement gives the Nagas the reason to be confident and not unconvinced to be swayed by highly surcharged emotions and misgivings from different quarters today.

At the same time, the NSCN-IM stated that the anticipation, apprehension or calculation for civil war is seriously viewed by the Naga populace and the Government of India as well.

Meanwhile, the Nagaland Peace Centre (NPC), during a thanksgiving service organised in commemoration of the 52nd anniversary of Peace Day in Kohima yesterday, appealed to everyone to work for strengthening political force for peace and pray for the final political settlement of the Naga political issue.

We fully support the policy of peace efforts of the State Government in dealing with the Naga groups who are engaged in political dialogue with the Government of India to resolve an acceptable and honourable Naga political solution, NPC chairman N Theyo said while addressing the programme.

Statimg that the NPC is closely associated with the Gandhi Peace Foundation, New Delhi, Theyo said its aim is to uphold the policy of peace and discourage violence and bloodshed.

Theyo said that on August 3, 2015, NSCN-IM took up a political venture and signed the framework agreement with the Government of India with the hope that this historic agreement will resolve and would result in achieving a political aspiration of all Nagas wherever they are.

Another move initiated by the Naga leaders, who are aware and concerned with the rest of the political groups engaged in ceasefire with the Government of India, is to start a political dialogue with the Centre under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he stated.

The NPC also appealed to NSCN-K and NNC regime led by Adinno Phizo to think and consider joining the ongoing peace process so that the hanging political problem of Nagaland would be solved once for all.
