AGARTALA, Sept 16 - During Durga puja there will be no power shortage in the State as Tripura State Electricity Corporation Ltd (TSECL) has decided to arrange for 300 MW power, said Power Minister Manik Dey. During puja days, the State will require 450 MW power according to an estimate prepared by TSECL.

Of the total power requirement, the State will need 300 MW for own consumption while 150 MW will go to Bangladesh, he said while speaking to the media in the Civil Secretariat here on Saturday.

Normally, Bangladesh receives 160 MW power from the State but during puja days, the neighbouring country will get 150 MW and decision has already been communicated to the appropriate authority.

The State will draw 135 MW from Palatana power plant while 85 MW will come from Central sector and Manarchak will supply 98 MW.

Besides, States own power generation will also be available during the puja. If additional power is required, TSECL will buy power from different Central PSUs even at extra charge to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the festival, he said.
