NEW DELHI, May 4 - The Centre today denied that there was large-scale infiltration through the riverine Indo-Bangladesh border using boats.
No large-scale infiltration has come to notice of the Border Security Force (BSF), said Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju.
The riverine areas of all the borders are patrolled by the BSF with the help of Floating Border Out Posts (FBOPs), mechanised boats, speed boats, medium crafts.
Hi-tech surveillance equipment along with night vision devices are also used for domination of riverine areas. Further, the Ministry of Home Affairs has recently approved in-principle deployment of technology solutions in the riverine and low-lying stretches of the border in the form of sensors, cameras, optical fibre cables, radars, etc., Rijiju said.
